June 28th, 1976 report of June 24th, 1976 rezoning Application R#18/76 requesting issuance of a Land Use Contract covering Lot 36, Block 8, District Lot 466, Group One, Plan 2294; Lot 39, Block Q, District Lot 466, Group One, Plan 19410; and adjacent road areas; presently zoned RS-2 (One Family Suburban Residential) to permit CS-1 (Service Commercial) uses, proceed to a Public Information Meeting. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, a discussion ensued during which Alderman Laking pointed out that the property to the North of the restaurant site was owned by the Developer who had no further development plans at this time, and the property to the east would be protected by a landscaped berme. Alderman Thompsen queried the hours of operation of the restaurant with respect to the problems that lighting of the area may cause the surrounding properties, and Mr. Ralph Banni, of McDonald's Corporation, was in the gallery and replied to the effect that the present hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and the lighting of the area would be in such a manner so as not to create any problem. In reply to a question from Mayor Campbell, Mr. Banni advised that the restaurant would be employing approximately 100 persons, 90% of | a4 rf £ t £ H 7 i $ i A : which would be primarily 15-20 year olds from the Port Coquitlam area. Alderman Ranger requested confirmation that anyone planning development in the area would be aware of the proposed restaurant site and this was confirmed by Alderman Laking. Alderman Laking advised that the Planning and Zoning Committee had Plann.& Zoning Comm. re appl'n. an additional item tor Council's consideration, that being the matter of _ R#14/76 - Our Lady of Assumption! a rezoning application R#i4/76 to rezone the property occupied by Our Catholic Church- 3141 Chester St, Lady of Assumption Catholic Church ~ 3141 Chester Street - from RS~l (One Family Residential) to its correct Zoning of P-2 (Special Institutional) to permit. the operation of a pre-school programme on the premises and recommending that the same be approved.
