October 28th, 1974 A regular qeeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. on Oct~ber 28th, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. ing., City Planner Lanson Lee, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G. Ulmer, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten. PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION - THE JUVENILE OFFENDER Public Information Pursuant to previous notice, His Worship the Mayor advised that a Session - The Juvenile public information session concerning the juvenile offender would commence Offender at this time, and he introduced Inspector M.A. Young, i/c Coquitlam R.C.M.P. Detachment, Mr. Ed Klassen, Acting Senior Probation Officer for Coquitlam/ Port Coquitlam, Mr. John Noble, Executive Director of the Income Security and Social Services Branch of the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Mr. Ken Levitt of the local office of the Department of Human Resources. His Worship the Mayor also introduced Mr. Robert Wenman, M.P., Fraser Valley West, upon his arrival later in the session. Factual information concerning such topics as peculiarites in the law, parental attitudes, and community standards was provided by the officials in attendance, and the public were afforded an opportunity to express their views and to receive answers to various queries on the subject. His Worship the Mayor then thanked the officials for their contribution to the session, and advised that in view of the interest shown by the public this evening, a further such meeting would be held early in the coming year. At 9:20 p.m. a short recess was taken, and the meeting resumed at 9:30 p.m. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Minutes - Oct.21/74 Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the minutes of the regular meecing of this Council held on October 21st, 1974, be taken as read and adopted.
