Illegal viewing suspected An RCMP investigation con- tinues following a complaint that persons at a location in the 3500 block Kalum St. were illegally obtaining cablevision trans- missions. RCMP attended ‘the location on Jan. 28 at 5:25 p.m., and: with the aid of a search warrant seized equipment being used to intercept the cable sig-- nal. Police are currently consider- ing a charge under ~ Section 326(1)(b) of the Criminal Code which states: "Everyone commits theft who . fraudulently, maliciously or without colour of tight uses any telecommunica- tion facility or obtains any tele- communication service."' Party pulls a surcharge A 27-year-old Terrace woman has been fined $100 as the result of a noisy party last summer. Following a complaint, Terrace RCMP attended a residence in the 4500 block Scott Ave, al. 2:52 a.m. on July 16, 1991, and asked the woman to turn down _ her stereo. She failed to heed the ~ warning, the party continued, and police returned to the regi- © dence at 4:24 a.m. This time, though, the police’ dispensed with the ‘courtesy of a warning.
