We should know that because we use: them.” After that introduction Peter Gray of Newport Marketing and Communications began telling a group of local businessmen why they should sign for Newport’s seminar to be held in Terrace in a few weeks. _ Gray, speaking to a luncheon meeting’ of the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce Jan. 18, told his. audience that Newport’s seminars are dif- ferent because they emphasize ‘‘practical information that can be used’’ rather than business theory. The Terrace seminar will cover marketing, sales, stress Management ‘and ‘financial ‘management for businesses. A specific date has not yet been. determined. Newport uses what Gray termed ‘‘non-traditional plan- ning’? and referred to the ‘‘story-boarding”? approach originated by Walt Disney to track the progress of projects. Two of the speakers for the seminar will be Harold Taylor, who Gray called ‘‘the best time- managament leader in-Canada”’, and Newport’s president Bill Gibson, | _ . Gray also noted that the fee for the seminar is being sub- sidized up to 75 percent by the ‘Canada Employment Centre and staff members of businésses can attend free if management personnel sign up. Gray was a resident of Terrace from 1963 to 1978, when he moved to Vancouver.
