DUTIES OF CO-ORDINATOR OF EMERGENCY SOCIAL SERVICES

General Duties:

This position is responsible to the Program Coordinator for the

City of Port Coquitiam. In general, the incumbent js
responsible for developing, testing and maintaining an
Emergency Social Services plan for the City of Port Coquitlam;
appointing and ensuring the etfectiveness of an Emergency
Social Services committee; providing consultation on Emergency
Social Services plans and procedures; and maintaining public

awareness of Emergency Social services plans,

Specific Duties:

1) in consultation with the Emergency Program Area
Coordinator, to recruit and appoint coordinators of
emergency feeding, reception centres, clothing, social
service communications, registration and enquiry, persona!

services, and welfare,

2) To ensure these coordinators receive sufticient training
to perform their responsibilities.

3) To develop a written plan tor provision of Emergency
Social Services in the event of a disaster.

4) To conduct or to cooperate with tests of this plan and to
ensure it remains effective.

5) To keep the program coordinator intormed of the status of

the Emergency Social Services plan,
