We are requesting permission to take the same
remedial action that other utilities in British Columbia and
Canada have taken and for the’same reasons.

; Our application also proposes a reduction of 50%
in the rate for basic residential telephone service for old
age pensioners who receive the federal Guaranteed Income
Supplement. Other proposals deal with special Direct Distance
Dialling rates from coin telephones, a charge for incomplete
person-to-person or collect calls, and the removal of charges
on residence ‘hard-of-hearing' telephones.

We are enclosing a copy of the 1974 Annual Report
of the Company which provides more detailed information on the
