For. the past two weeks the film crews have put together a one hour news package seen Sunday’s at 5 p.m. The show has featured video-taped highlights. of most of the top news stories of the day along with the feature reports and a special one hour interview with MLA Hartley Dent on Northern Development, The two’ shows were just warm-ups though and SCTV is ready and raring to go with a. fuller Hne of television offerings in the very near future, This reporter talked with Brad Kenny first during the preparation of the latest news hour {late -last week} and ther again Monday as to what the SCTY people are up to and whal we dan expect in (he future. Kenny first explained how the students handle the news. . The slory ideas come ‘from the students themselves ‘and are subject lo the ‘approval of Kenny. The students talk their assignments oul with Kenny, picking up tips and developing a “slant” for thestory.
