Jonathan Vowles, 16,
plunged 360 metres. Monday
after his first parachute
jump went wrong, but
escaped death when he
crashed through the skylight
of an airfield hangar and his
parachute lines snagged.

Jonathan was left dangling
less than one metre from the
hangar’s cement floor when
his lines caught on the
broken sky light frame.

"It looked like he was

going to hit the metal roof of Week.

through the tiny skylight and
his lines caught, If he'd hit
the floor he'd have been
dead.”

Jonathan, one of six school
boys who. volunteered to
jump with the army’s Flying
Bugles skydiving team, ev
suffered only strained
ligaments in his right leg.

Jonathan said he plans to
join the army, “but one
thing’s for sure- I won't
apply to join the
paratroopers.”

would do it again if I thought

said Violet Guilli as she sat
in a jail cell waiting for
someone to pay her $25 fine
after yielding to the pleas of
prisoners and going topless
as she walked by the Norfolk
City jail Saturday.

She pleaded guilty Monday
to indecent, exposure, but

sentenced her to spend 19
