Section 9: Tools (a) Insurance (i) The Company shall, upon the signing of this Agreement, at its expense, insure for damage or loss caused by fire or flood, the tools of its employees which are required to be used in the performance of their work. (ii) The Company shall, upon the signing of this Agreement, at its expense, insure the tools SUPPLEMENT NO: 4 TO THE COAST MASTER AGREEMENT Sections 1, 2, 3, 4,5, and 6 remain the same. Section 7: Wages (a) Rates Wage rates for inspectors shall be as follows: Effective June 15, 1974 Steady Inspector $6.83 per hour Substitute Inspector $6.83 per hour Transient Inspector $56.80 per day Clause (b) remains the same. Section 8: Allowance for Expenses (a) Transportation and Travelling (i) Transient inspectors required to go to points away from the immediate locality of their headquarters shall receive tran- sportation and other névessary expenses. (ii) When an inspector is required to go to some other plant to inspect materials for the same company, transportation and other necessary expenses shall be paid. of its employees which are required to be used in the performance of their work, for loss by theft where tools are stored in a designated place of safety within the control of the Company and there is forcible breaking and entering. The insurance coverage provided shall be subject to a deductible of $50.00 in respect of each employee’s claim. (b) Damaged or Broken The Company will repair or replace tools P.L.I.B. (iii) Inspectors shall receive reasonable compensation for travelling, whether night or day, Sunday or holiday travelling to and from the locality of their headquarters, also bet- ween various assignments when on a tran- sient trip. Headquarters: Area ‘‘A”? — (Vancouver) This shall consist of the City of Vancouver and the District Municipality of Richmond. Area ‘‘B’’ — (North and West Vancouver) This shall consist of the City of North Vancouver and the District Municipalities of North Vancouver and West Vancouver. - Area ‘“‘C’? — (New Westminster) This shall consist of the City of New Westminster, the District Municipalities of Burnaby and Coquitlam as far east as to include the Crown Zellerbach Building Materials Ltd. Transient inspectors and inspectors acting as such, resident in any of these areas, when servicing mills in their area, shall not receive travelling ex- penses. damaged or broken in the performance of regular duties. (c) Metric Tools The Company will make available tradesmen’s tools required upon the in- troduction of the metric system. Present Section 8 now Section 10. (iv) When an inspector is requested to use his own car for travelling on Bureau assignment he shall be allowed sixteen cents (16c) per mile for car expenses. (b) Living Expenses (i) On operations where accommodation is not available for families, married inspectors shall not be required to accept steady em- ployment but should they accept such assignments, free board and lodging will be provided for the inspectors. - (ii) A transient inspector shall be allowed his expenses when so assigned it becomes necessary to live away from home. (c) Complaint Procedure Should a mill have a complaint regarding the expenses of an inspector the matter shall be taken up directly with the Bureau and not with the inspector. Section 9 remains the same. | Section 10: Holidays Add British Columbia Day to clause (a). Clause (b) remains the same. All other Sections remain the same.
