March 30, 1992/087 WHEREAS Fublic safety in buildings will be greatest where there is understanding and co-operation between the people who administer the codes and the people they serve; WHEREAS The importance of the codes and their enforcement should be recognized before, not after, a building safety problem results because someone ignored them; AND WHEREAS Provincial and local governments across Canada and the United States are promoting building safety through the observation of “National Bullding Safety Week"; NOW THEREFORE I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of April 5 to 11, 1992 as: “BUILDING SAFETY WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlam. WHEREAS National Wildlife Week was created by an Act of Parliament in 1947 to create awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation in Canada; WHEREAS The Canadian Wildlife Federation hopes that "National Wildlife Week" will increase participation at a community level in active conservation; WHEREAS Conservation of wildlife habitat is necessary to ensure the continued survival of Canada's plants and animals; ‘WHEREAS Wildlife belongs to ail people and should be conserved for the benefit of future generations; _ AND WHEREAS The theme chosen for this year's National Wildlife Week is "Keep Canada Rver Green for Wildlife" which focuses on taking action to. conserve Canada's wildlife resources; | NOW ‘THEREFORE Leonard -M.
