January 22, 1990/011 A Public Hearing pursuant to Section 956 of the Municipal Act was held prior to the Council meeting of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, January 22nd, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A. Freeman, City Engineer T.M. Chong, City Treasurer J.G. Maitland and Director of Community Planning C. Felip. ZOWING PUBLIC HEARING: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised the following proposed Bylaws would now be considered: Bylaw No. 2479: to rezone Lots 1, 2, 3, 4; and 5 District Lot 464 Group One, Plan 2286 New Westminster District; from RM~-1 (Low Density Apartment) to RM~4 (Apartment ) The property is located on the east side of the 3100 Block Flint Street (north of Fraser Avenue) and would permit the construction of a 24 unit apartment complex on the property. The following people spoke regarding the proposed rezoning: Mr. David Brown, 3135 Cambridge Street referred to his letter of December 29th, 1989 pointing out the existing traffic problems and how this would be complicated by 22 additional families in the area. Mr. M. Seaton, 3151 Cambridge Avenue feels the road conditions in the area are not acceptable when considering additional housing and that the Apartment would devalue their property. Mr. G. La Gigla, 3143 Cambridge Avenue would like to go on record as being in agreement with the previous speaker ยป
