V3C 2A8 Attention: City Administrator Dear. Sirs: Re: Terry Fox Day LWA AUiON ARETE nn et aes Once again the Port Coquitlam Kinsmen Club is sponsoring the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope. The Run will be held on Sunday, September 18th, and will follow a similar format as in the past, with the ceremonies and the start-finish taking place at the Hyde Creek Centre Grounds. The city has endorsed this event in the past and we seek your co-operation again. This year the Kinsmen wish to dedicate and erect 3 permanent marker in commemoration of this outstanding Port Coquitlam youth. I trust you will agree, Terry Fox has inspired our nation and focussed attention on Port Coquitlam with his efforts to conquer cancer, The stone marker (sketch enclosed) is on grey granite composition, dimensions 20" x 12" x 6" = 4". The marker would be fastened to a concrete base in the ground and is basically maintenance free, The top and front section will have a polished finish with. the sides and back section a rustic finish. tal The inscription shall read, "The Terry Fox Run, Offic¢ Start-Finish Line Dedicated to all who strive to conquer cancer, donated by the PoCo Kinsmen." The location desired is situated on the north side of Laurier Avenue, centered between the street entrances to Hyde Creek Centre. The marker would rest approximately three feet north of the sidewalk indicating the "Start-Finish Line". We realize the marker would become the property of the city as it will be located on city property, continued....2 3 “Serving the Communities’ Greatest Needs” ALL CANADIAN SERVICE CLUB de catania pen AE tat) nenetee a tear ene tae a kate Cale ay teat athae psa ete
