THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM AUG 8 1977 R. A. Freeman City Clerk stabi FROM: N. Chernoff Senior Building Inspector July 20th, 1977 Chek tetetenle kena ten dete ka knke tte khek at tote ot et eT a ee a ee er ed Leper ars ta mites, RE: Building and Protection Committee meeting on Sign By-law. Present: Alderman Mabbett, Vince Borch, Nick Chernoff. Discussions were held also with Alderman Thompson. The Committee recommends implementation of changes to the Sign By-law to allow free standing signs to be placed anywhere on the lot. The previous requirement was a setback of ten (10) feet from all property lines. Another change to the By-law to permit projecting signs to project a maximum dimension of 235 feet into a required front yard or one half the required front yard. This change is to facilitate a sign display without installing free standing signs particularly in the down town areas. These contemplated changes are proposed because of resistance to the present format of the By-law dealing mainly with fascia signs. Please forward this to Council for consideration. N.
