Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the report of ~:~ the Planning and Zoning Committee, June 10th, i976 with respect to rezoning Application R#6/76 recommending that Lot 421, Plan 48883 be rezoned from RS~2 (One Family Suburban Residential) to RS~1 (One Family Residential) to permit a proposed 9-lot subdivision, be approved. Carried. Alderman Ranger voted against the resolution. During discussion of the foregoing resolution Alderman Laking noted the access and servicing problems involved in the area, partly due to the adjacent land to the west thereof remaining unsubdivided and advised that servicing to the easterly lots will have to come from Freemont Street. Alderman Ranger questioned the remarks in the report which suggested that the westerly boundary of the subdivision be fenced as a condition of the rezoning. Alderman Laking pointed out that this was a requirement and the request had come from the owner of the abutting property at the Public Information Meeting and the Developer, who had been present at the meeting, had agreed to construct a standard form of fence in order to control debris and children from the subdidvision trespassing on the property. The Developer was present in the gallery and reconfirmed that he was prepared to construct the fence to accommodate the owner of the westerly property. Moved by Aiderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the original resolution be amended to exclude the requirement that fencing be constructed along the western boundary of the property.
