Susan Latimer from Fisheries has indicated definite.' that we are unable to use any other area but the area as designated by Dram. It was agreed by the Committee that we need access and we are not prepared to buy the lots beside the Kroeker property. & Recommendationfk proceed with the recommendation as outlined in the Director's report. That we spend 44,000 at Evergreen Park to prevent softballs from going into the resident's front yards. That the money to do these proJects be taken from the interest of the Park D.C.C. Funds. Background A Comments: received many complaints last year from residents close to the ball diamonds at both Thompson and Evergreen Parks. The ma3or problem being that the groups using these facilities are adults and many foul balls are going into the resident's yards. We have extended the backstop at Drive park for similar reasons. The problem at EvergreenCedar and Thompson Parks will not go away, due to the fact that we need to the adult groups at these diamonds. There is money in schedule the interest from the Park We D.C.C. Failure to comply with request woulc result in the withdrawal of authorization to this occasion licenses for the app11cable event(s).obtain special A Purpose/Problem: A .letter has been received from Port Coquitlam Men League indicating that they will the not be sponsoring the s Fastball ~ reunion softball tournament or related activities. Th1s tournament, related special occasion licenses and f'acility bookings were pz eviously approved under the auspices of the Port Coqutlam Men' Fastball League. Failure to comply with this request would result in the withdrawal authorization to obtain special occasions licenses for theof applicable events. Di.scussion./Justification: Zn light of the 1'act that this event is one of the 75th Anniversary Events, and that planning is well under way, the acceptable and logical alternative is for the current applicant to find a bona 1"ide organization to co-sponsor the tournament and lated activities.
