During Bulkley Valley Days, 1986, Terrace residents will be given an. opportunity to take a ride up the 6000’ triple chairlift on Hudson Bay Mountain and see the valley from above. Ski Smithers will open the chairlift to the public on Sunday, Aug. 24, Monday Aug. 25, and Tuesday Aug. 26 weather permitting. Rides will be available from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. each day. Cost of the chair-ride will be $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for Senior Citizens and children 7 through 12; children 6 and under Bulkley Valley Days to feature chairlift rides who are accompanied by a parent will ride free. Tickets for the ride will be available on site. The half tour ride up will take participants to the top where they may ex- plore the mountain meadows or get back on the chair for the ride down. A barbecue will be held outside the Lower Chalet for the duration on the chajr-ride hours. The Ski Smithers crew will be there barbecuing hamburgers, tossing salads, and serving beverages. For those who would like to leave the driving to someone else, Smithers Bus Service will be offering transporta- tion. The 8.C Corrections Branch (Northern Ragin) invites submis- sions from Individuals, agencles, registered societies, or corpora- tlons for the provision of - A combined 8 bed attendance program and 2 bed ball/short term placement program in nor- thwestern British Columbla (preferably In the Smithers, Terrace or Prince Rupert areas). The Corrections Branch requires a program that: - provides up to a six month program for each youth in the atten- dance program and up to two months for tha short term place- ment program: - allows for ongoing entry into the program; - provides counselling opportunities for personal development; . provides opportunities for educational upgrading and advance- ment; - provides program resources for family development and com- munity re-entry. . The contractor would ba rasponsible for providing the facility complete with: ‘ - all furnishings and necessary household goods; - slaifing to provide appropiate supervision twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; - food; - clothing; - transportation; - equipment; + programing. The contractor would be responsible for all expenses incured in operating this resource. Subject to funds being made available by the legislature, ihe Branch is desirous of entering into a multi-year contract for up to three years, with a start data of November 1, 1986.
