SUBIECT: MINISTRY OF HIGHWAYS - 1993 REVENUE COST SHARING GRANT

That the City of Port Coquitlam apply to the Ministry of Transportation and Highways for a 50%

revenue sharing grant for the reconstruction of Kingsway Avenue from Westwood Street to the -
Coquitlam River bridge at an estimated project cost of $1,072,600.

Every year the City is entitled to apply to the Provincial Government for cost sharing assistance for the
reconstruction of municipal roads. This year we have nominated Kingsway Avenue from Westwood
Avenue to the Coquitlam River bridge. The estimated cost for construction of this section of road

including the railway signalization is $1,072,600.

The application for 1993 Highways grants is due on January 4, 199%. Under the program the province
funds 50% of the capital costs of road reconstruction. The remaining 50% of the project will be funded
from roads DCC's ($344,600) and from 1993 Public Works Capital ($191,700).
