Following first reading of the above-noted By-law, the City Clerk
advised the same will provide for an increase in the Mayor's indemnity
; this year to $12,420.00 over the 1975 figure set at $11,500.00, and in
the Aldermen's to $5,184.00 each over the 1975 figure set at $4,800.00 -
being an overall increase of 8%.

Alderman Laking introduced a By-law to authorize the borrowing oi

money for the purpose of constructing a Fire Hall.

Conference & Chief has asked for permission to attend the B.C. Fire Chiefs’ Conference

Officers’ in Richmond on May 18th to 21st, 1976, and stating that as this is a

local conference, there will be no hotel expense. The City Administrator,

in his memorandum, further advised that the Conference is followed by a

Fire Prevention Officers’ Seminar, also in Richmond, on June lst to 4th,

1976.
