Fraser Valley Vi Vosguito Control Board | PABTHIAAN J. W. LUERS ‘Chairman H, BARNETT Seaetary-Treasuser _June 8th, 1972 First: Avenue P.O. Bon 29 MISSION CITY, B.C. JUN 12 1972 Mr. R. A. Freeman, ity Clerk, City of Port Coquitlan, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. Dear SIirt- Re: 1972 Assessment ~ Mosquito Control. The Secretary - Treasurer has passed to me your letter of the 31st May, 1972, outlining the resolution of the Council of the City of Port Coquitlam to withdraw it's membership from the Mosquito Control Board for 1972. It is difficult to understand this resolution. At the Annual Meeting of the Board held on the 24th of February, at which your representative was present, a long discussion tank place with regard to the Assessment for 1972, and the Budget was finally adopted with only the represent~ ative from Harrison Hot Springs voting against. On the basis of this decision a three year Contract was entered into with Con Air Aviation for spraying, and with Mr. S. Cratg for management services. The Board is therefore committed to Contrast prices for these three years. I am aware that there hes been considerable opposition to aerial spraying from residents of Port Cogq= uitlam, but the Ceutract does provide for ground spraying (a ccpy is attached).
