6 Terrace Review — Wednesday, June 25, 1986 Houston came back from an opening 15-3 loss to Knights of Col- umbus to gain revenge with a 7-6 victory over the Knights in the cham- pionship game of the an- nual Terrace Colts’ Minor Baseball Tourna- ment at Rotary Park on the June 14 weekend. It started out as a six- team, double-knockout tournament, but Telkwa pulled out at the last minute to set up a couple of default wins. Video Stop bounced All Seasons 12-3 in the Friday opener. Then Visiting It was an all-Houston final for the annual Big Bob’s Ball-Banger mixed scrub softball tourna- ment, sponsored by the All Seasons Expose team on the June 14 weekend. The Houston Deans lost only one game in the round-robin portion, but they took three straight in the single elimination playoff to win top money of $500. In opening quarter- final games Forest Pro- ducts knocked off Westar, Family Connec- tion took out Copper- side, Minors defeated the host Expose, and the Deans eliminated Sullivans. Although a downpour hampered most of the Saturday action, the teams went ahead and played every game. It was a 16-team series with a total of 31 games. Rob Martens of All Seasons’ Expose drove this ball deep to right field, but it wasn't far enough and he was an easy out. Basketball camp returns The 1985 highly- successful Terrace basketball camp for boys and girls aged 8 to 19 is coming back for another five-day session at Skeena Junior High School. Organized under Skeena’s basketball coach Bob Rafter, plans call for daily sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Aug. 24 to 28. The fee this year is $95 per camper. Youngsters must get a registration a form either at their oe school or from Skeena High School. Instruc- tions on registration are contained on the form. July 15 is the closing date for entries. Four outstanding coaches will be here for instruction. Jim Paxson is in his 8th year with the NBA’s Portland Trail- blazers and heads the im- pressive list. Paxson was a college all-American at Dayton University, anda two-time NBA All-Star with a 21.3 points-per- game scoring average. Glen Marx is head coach at Los Amigos, California, high school, while Mike Rooney is a pro coach in West Ger- many.
