DEAR ABBY: Ifa doctor is not stable in his personal
life, would you lose confidence in him as a physician?

I think my doctor is the best for mites around, but
now that he is in the process of getting his fourth
divorce, I wonder if it’s possible for his judgement to be
sobad in one department but not inanother.

His first wife was a fine, attractive woman. He
simply tired of her and found a new love. It was the
same story with the other three. He made generous —
settlements on ali of them. ;

How would you feel, Abby? Would you still have

confidence in him as a doctor?
WONDERING IN TEXAS

DEAR WONDERING: I know It's possible for some
people to be brilliant in their own fields, but inept,
inexperienced and hopelessly naive in other matters.
Personally, as long as my physician provides me with
competent professional care, how he handles his
personal life is hiw own business.

DEAR ABBY: [ am 42 and very much in love witha
beautiful, 27-year-old model. Her divorce (for which I
am paying) is now pending. She has three children.

I bought her a new car, and have spent more than
$15,000 on clothes for her and her children in the last six
months. She says she loves me, but [ don't see much of
her. I see her only on Monday nights because on
Tuesdays she sees an old boyfriend she says she has to
“let down easy.” On Wednesday night she goes out
with her boss. On Thursday night she goes out with the
girls, on Friday night she stays home and does her
laundry, and she lets her husband come over on
weekends because he misses the kids.

My friends say ] am being taken for a ride. Am 1?

DEAR ABBY: My conscience is bothering me and |
have other problems, tco. I'm a 15-year-old who
everybody thinks is a ‘‘very nice girl,” But I'm not as

Myt girlfriend and I went to a movie one Saturday
and let ourselves be picked up by a couple of guys.
They had a car so we went for a ride afterwards, We
parked and made out (only light necking—nothing
Serious). We really aren’t pickups and don't know what
made us act like that.

Well, I've seen this guy a couple of times on the sneak
since then, but he never wants to come in and meet my
parents. All he ever wants is to park and make out. I
really like him, Abby. How can I make this a respec-
table relationship? [ feel ashamed and dirty.
