Carried. advising of a P/Wks.Comm.re request for water connec- tion-440 Lincoln Ave. : (CE. Rastad) From the Public Works Committee, January 16th, 1976, request from Mr. E. Rastad for a watar connection to his property at 440 Lincoln Avenue from a 2" waterline located in the District of Coquitlam which is tied into the City's water system at Lincoln and 3t. Thomas, and that in order to obtain the connection it would be necessary for the City to request the same from the District of Coquitlam. In its report, the Committee pointed out that there is an existing agreement between the District and the City which prohibits the District from obtaining additional water connections for new developments and recommended that as the District has twice in the past requested that this part of the agreement be waived and has been refused by the City, the City not request the District to provide a water connection for 440 Lincoln Avenue. The City Clerk then advised he had just been handed a memorandum from the City Engineer addressed to Aldermen Mabbett and Thompson further to the January 16th, 1976 Public Works Committee report stating therein that Mr, Rastad has taken steps to obtain an easement across the watercourse through his property in preparation for a water connection off Laurier Avenue and that the owners of the watercourse property involved lost title due to non-payment of taxes; further, that the Department of Lands in Victoria is in the process of getting the watercourse property back in the name of the Crown and as soon as this has been completed, they have indicated to Mr. Rastad that he could obtain an easement for his water connection at 440 Laurier Avenue; however, this will take some time and there is nothing the City can do to speed up the process, Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the request of Mr. E. Rastad for a water connection from the 2-inch water line located in the District of Coquitlam to service his property at 440 Lincoln Avenue, be denied, Carried. Plan.& Zon.
