big snowfall couldn't have been better timed for students at

Clarence Michiel elementary school. With the school closed last Fri-

day for a leacher's professional development session, they had the
entire day to hone their snowballing skills.

Best’s long wait for his 25 year
service pin was not the result of
an oversight,

“This was the first time we've
handed out service pins,’’
Denise Fisher explained. Best,
who started working for the city
on April 1, 1960, was one of 33
employees to be recognized in
its first presentation ceremony
and the only one to have served
25 years.
