Special safety for special people this week This week is the first annual Seniors’ Safety Week in Terrace and number of special, safety- oriented activities have been sche- duled to take place at the Happy Gang Centre. Hour-long presenia- tions are scheduled for Monday through Thursday this week begin- ning at 10:30 am, cach day. Topics include fire and traffic safety, home security, prescriptions and alcohol, and oral hygiene as well a3 general orat health. In addition to these activities, there is a Seniors’ Safety Week display at the Terrace Co-op today and Satur- day, Jan. 19. os ee ‘ Senior’ Safety Week was pro- claimed by Terrace city council following a recommendation by the city’s Seniors’ Advisory Com- mission. The Advisory Commis- sion has organized all the events for the week because, according to commission chairman Lou Gair, "We feel it is important that seniors in the city are aware of the need to take certain precautions ranging from prescription use to fire safety."
