Dear Andrew,

This Letter is to requast from City Council subsidization for Christmas tre
chipping at Art Knapp Alantiland & Florist located at 1300 Dominion Avenue i
Port Coquitlam.

Firstly, the reason wel are providing this public service is due largely ¢
environmental concerns. AS a responsible carperate citizen, Art Knapp's woul
rather have Christmas trees chipped and used Later for useful mulch etc, a
opposed to burning them which will send harmful pollutants into tha air.

Aneatheyr intention of the tree chipping is for tund raising. Donations will b
-aquired for @ach pergon bringing in a tree with all proceeds going to
worthwhile charity whi¢h is still being decided upon.

Obviously, there will be considerable costs involved to Art Knapp’s, most c
which we are willing tlo assume. However, I feel that this event will be
banefit to the City in terms af reducing your responsibility for disposal ar
therefore request fromithe City subsidization in the amount of #400.

This: money will be used towards the following costs

Labour for CHIPPING. «accansnverroves » (£40
Labour for rece#iving and maintaining 320

I also request that the City recognizes Art’ Knapp as a chipping depot in a
recycling and other coyrespondence to the citizens of the cammunity.

Because of the environmental benefits, we are committed ta making this «
annual event which wild undoubtedly grow in magnitude each and every year.
