THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM B.R. Kirk DATE: August 23, 1990 City Administrator I.R. Zahynacz, P. Eng. City Engineer SUBJECT: Shaughnessy Street Improvements (Public Works/Traffic Committee August 14, 1990) Recommendation: l. That Council approve the following improvements for Shaughnessy Street; ae that the signal timing for the McAllister traffic signal be adjusted to provide a four second intergreen clearance interval for both phases; that curve warning signs, and centre line reflective markers be placed on Shaughnessy near Marpole and Wilson; that pavement markings on Shaughnessy be realigned to provide left turn lanes on to Wilson and Marpole; and d. that pedestrian signal heads and induction loops be installed at the Shaughnessy/McAllister intersection. That $20,000.00 be allocated from 1990 Capital Budget for this purpose. Background & Comments: Committee reviewed the attached memorandum which summarizes the report entitled "Shaughnessy Street Traffic Study", prepared by Hamilton Associates”, dated March, 1990. Also, the Committee tabled the discussion on crosswalks until the report is received from the Engineer later in August, regarding the City Policy alternatives for crosswalks. Cont'd /2...
