Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That permission be given to Mrs. Kathy Fox to address the Council for ten minutes regarding the concerns of residents on the spraying of herbicides and pesticides in the City of Port Coquitlam. Carried. Alderman Muldoon proposed an amendment to the resolution that Mrs. T. Macadams also be permitted to address the Council, Moved by Alderman Muldoon: That Mrs. T. Macadams be permitted to address the Council. Lost for want of a seconder. Mrs. Kathy Fox then made a Presentation to the Council regarding the spraying of herbicides and pesticides on the school yards in Port Coquitlam and read a letter from Mrs. J. Butler regarding the problems her son encounters with herbicides used-on the school. yards. Alderman Traboulay asked Mr. and Mrs. Butler, who were present in the gallery, regarding chemicals used by people in the private sector of the City and Mrs. Butler advised by coming to Council the residents are working to make people aware of the dangers of these sprays. The Acting-City Clerk advised Mr. Gerry Bachmayer, coordinator of Municipal programs for the Provincial Governments Energy Efficient Housing Renovation Project was unable to be in attendance at tonight's meeting and that Dr. Schwartz will be available to meet with the Council regarding this project on Monday, July 6th, 1981 at 7:00 p.m. CORRESPONDENCE: From the Greater Vanvouver Regional District, June '10th, 1981 regarding the G.V.R.D.'s role in Economic Development. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the City of Port Coquitlam adopt Option 1 in the Greater Vancouver Regional District report dated June 10th, 1981 to drop all further efforts to pursue the Task Force recommendat iuns regarding G.V.R.D.'s role in Economic Development. Aldermen Muldoon and Wright voted against the resolution.
