EXTRA? ....

- On February 12th, 1980 the Maple Ridge School Board approved a 1980
budget which includes provisions for elementary French instruction. A
new early French immersion program will be offered in one or two classes

in September 1980.

At the same time, some schools will begin a French

"exposure" program starting at the grade four levél.

- The Office of the Director of French Language Services, Ministy of
Education will be assisting in persommel recruitment for both Immersion
and Programme Cadre this Spring.

- Early French Immersion - The General Information Handbook is for parents.
Several hundred will be available by request in September 1980.

- The Provincial Resource and Training Centre for French Language Services

is now open.

B.C.P.F. has donated two copies of "So You Want Your Child to

Learn French" to the Centre.

- Centre Cultural Colombien will be. sponsoring a French Canadian Book Fair

(Salon du Livre)

on Granville Island, April 22 = 27.

participating, and entertainment by singers, dancers, and musical groups

will be featured as part of Festival Francophone.
