That the existing Subdivision Administration and Inspection Fee in the City of Port Coquitlam
Subdivision Servicing Bylaw No. 2241 be amended to reflect the following sliding scale fee

system:
Estimated Cost of Work

$100,000 & less 5 % of estimated cost

$100,001 to $200,000 $6,000 plus 4 % of estimated cost above $100,000
$200,001 to $300,000 $10,500 plus 3.5 % of estimated cost above $200,000
$300,001 to $500,000 $14,500 plus 3 % of estimated cost above $300,000
Over $500,000 $21,500 plus 2 % of estimated cost above $500,000

The City has received a request from the Beedie Group for a reduction in the subdivision
Administration & Inspection Fee which is currently four percent (4%) of the estimated costs of
providing all works & services for the subdivision.

It has been found that the actual costs of administration inspections for small subdivisions is
more than four percent (4%) of the cost of the works and services while the actual
Administration and Inspection Fee for larger subdivisions would be less than four percent of the

costs of subdivision servicing.

As shown in the attached survey of other municipalities, some municipalities like the District of
Langley, Coquitlam, Chilliwack, and Delta are using or plan to implement a sliding scale of
Subdivision Administration and Inspection Fees. It is recommended that the following sliding
fee scale for Subdivision Administration & Inspection be adopted by the City of Port Coquitlam.

$100,001 to $200,000 $6,000 plus 4 % of estimated cost above $100,000
$200,001 to $300,000 $10,500 plus 3.5 % of estimated cost above $200,000
$300,001 to $500,000 $14,500 plus 3 % of estimated cost above $300,000
Over $500,000 $21,500 plus 2 % of estimated cost above $500,000
