2) Coat. At present there is an existing road Right of way approximately 350m North of the By-Pass running West from Coast Meridian Road. This Right of Way is approximately half the distance to Broadway. There has been no indication by the City that this road Right of Way will be extended to Broadway. This additional Right of Way would require an acquisition from a private owner who may or may not want to sell a 20m strip, although it could be acquired if the Property is subdivided. If this road was to go through, Coast Meridian could be clesed off as access to the By-Pass would be in close proximity to Broadway. See attached sketch. B) Section 3.3.1, 4.3.3 and SK 81110-SK-132 (Right of Way) As is stated in section 3.3.1, Mary Hill By-Pass Median Width, the Consultant has recommended a median width of 5.4m from an original 2.4m. This increase is required for future left turn lanes if a new Pitt River crossing is built. At this time we are not certain how acquisition from the Ramsey property for additional Right of Way will be acquired or in what form. No additional Right of Way would have been required if alternative 1 was chosen. This proposed alignment would have widened both sides of the existing By-Pass within the existing Right of Way. Conflicts with our 450mm watermain end a 150mm gas main on the South side of the By-Pass is one reason that alternative 2 was chosen. C) Utilities Section 4.5.1 An existing 600mm diameter watermain North of the underpass to the Lougheed Highway will require relocation. This main and a smaller 300mm join at Kingsway/Mary Hill By~Pass (North of Underpass). The 600mm feed could be disrupted for a short period during the winter months, when demand is low. Prior to relocation work a study should be carried out to determine if the existing 300mm main can supply flow if a long term disruption should occur. D) City Owned Property — The proposed Highway Underpass (South Side) Right of Way will require a parcel of property which is owned by the City. Parcel indentifier is Parcel 1 Reference Plan 7600 (0.2 acres) Cont'd .../3 PAGE 53
