Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended by the City Administrator, March 18th, 1977, the Fire Prevention Officer, Mr. Ross Dunbar, be permitted to attend the Annual Fire Prevention Seminar in Vernon, B.C. Fire Chief re From the Fire Chief, March 18th, 1977 with respect to the designation “Burning Month" of "Burning Month" in conjunction with the Annual Clean-up Week and recommending ‘that the Month of April be so designated. During the discussion which ensued, Alderman Ranger indicated that although he was personally opposed to outdoor burning, he had received several cails advising that permission to burn garden refuse was needed immediately due to the very mild winter and subsequent early spring growth. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That "Burning Month" in the City of Port Coquitlam be designated as March 21st to April 21st, 1977 for the purpose of burning garden refuse only. Carried. Alderman Ranger voted against the resolution. Fire Prev.Off. From the Fire Prevention Officer, March 17th, 1977, being an application re Appl'n. for Burning Permit for Burning Permit for Berchtolds Farm, 850 Prairie Avenue for the 858 Prairie purpose of clearing pasture land at 858 Prairie Avenue and recommending approval of the application. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as recommended by the Fire Prevention Officer, March 17th, 1977, the Application for Burning Permit for Berchtolds Farm, 850 Prairie Avenue for pasture land located at 858 Prairie Avenue, be approved; and that the necessary permit be issued.
