Joe Clark ranks second with an estimated payout of $3,115 mii- lion. Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, with nine years in Parliament, will get $1,124 million by the time he reaches 75. Universities join forces UNBC HAS signed an agreement with Osaka International Uni- versity In Japan to carry out joint research and exchanges of stu- dents and faculty. Osaka offers specially designed courses in the Japanese language for English-speaking students and UNBC intends to have some of its students attend those courses. Students from Japan would likely | study English at UNBC. Areas of likely joint research interests include environmental studies, regional economic development and indigenous peoples. The 55 people who work for the 51 NDP MLAs have been with a contract since last Novernber. The B.C. Government Employees’ Union wants a wage increase of three per cent, retroactive to Nov, 16, 1992 and a one per cent hike as of May 1 this year. MLAs have countered with a two per cent offer and one per cent, effective May 1, in lieu of overtime. Constituency assistanis now earn $2,426 a month.
