THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 U N C OCT 24 1977 October 24, 1977, TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL FROM: LEISURE ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE — RE: PORT COQUITLAM METROPOLITAN JUNIOR CLUB ~ please see attachments The Committee held a meeting on October 20th, 1977 with all the ice users to discuss the formation of the above club. : Prior to ice allocation for this club, certain ice users returned some of the hours originally assigned to them. Most of the hours returned were late night hours and were not being used due to the fact that 11 and 12 year olds are not allowed to come out at 11:00 P.M, The following is a breakdown of the hours: 1. Minor Hockey gave up a total of 6% hours. 2. Ringette — "= gave up a total of 1 hour, 3. Girls Hockey gained 1 hour. 4, Recreation Dept. fave un a total of i hour, . It should be noted that Minor Hockey has made better utilization of their ice time for the Peanut Division. Rather than having two teams use the full ice surface, they now have four teams nlaying widthwise. The Leisure Activities Committee would like to make the following recommendations: . 1. That the formation of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey Club be approved. . 2. That the ice rental costs be: Games - $30. 00 per hour. 3. That they be allocated the following ice time: (a) New Arena - Sunday, 3:00 p.m. — 4:45 p.m. (Game Time) (b) New Arena - Tuesday, 11:00 p.m. ~ 12:00 Midnipeht (Practice) ° ° Respectful ” submitted, C4 many) .
