Police - said the incident of last Thursday. RCMP Cpl. Rob McKay said a 31-year-old woman was threatened with a knife. The victim was eventually able to make a phone call, he said, and RCMP arrived and arrested a man. McKay said . the woman suffered minor injuries, - but they were not a-result of the knife. The man was also charged last week with a number of offences alleged to have occurred on June 10, - They include dangerous driving, criminal harrassment and common assault, The same woman was involved in the ear- lier incident, Crown prosecu- | tors said. . New deadline for Nisga’a THE JUNE 30th deadline for an agreement-in-principle in treaty talks with the Nisga’a has been extended another two weeks to July 15. Premier Mike Harcourt made the announcement Monday to a meeting of B.C. native chiefs at the Squamish reserve in North Vancouver. Provincial officials are planning to stage an annouce- ment — now tentatively sched- uled for July LOth or 11th — on the progress of the Nisga’a talks.
