Christensen, District Highways Manager, Ministry Official Food bank without building TERRACE — The an- nual food bank service may be in danger this year, it seems that no building has been found to house the service that feeds the needy during the holiday season. by Philip Musselman Traditionally the food bank is set up every November in order to feed the needy during the harsh cold of winter, Usually. this service opens in November and continues until the end of April. The operation is open from | to 3 p.m. every day. Although there is a good number ‘of volunteers available, the food bank just can not open without a loca- tion where it can remain until the end of April. “The food bank would go very nicely,’? com- mented Captain John Harker of the Salvation | Army, “because we are hoping to get ten churches involved com- pared to last year’s eight churches.’ Although this does seem like very bad news, Harker was proud to an- nounce that the demand for such a service has gone down in Terrace. “But, there is still a need in our city,” said, Donations may be given through the chur- ches, and there will be barrels to collect food at various locations. This event was staged to express group support for pro-life issues. Prior to the march Terrace Pro-Life Educa- tion Association Presi- dent Isobel Brophy told her audience that the un- born — like us — are unique, valuable, and precious, These truths mean that the unborn child has a tight to come into this - world no matter how dif- ficult the circumstances of the mother, said Brophy. ‘‘Having said that means we also have the responsibility to offer these mothers our com- passion and friendship. If necessary we should open our homes as a refuge and our pocket- books in charity,’’ Brophy said. No matter what hap- pens in our courts or legislatures, the real struggle against abortion takes place in our hearts as God helps us learn ac- tive compassion for all the unprotected, Brophy added. glen ae A favorita activity for Kindergarten children is snack time.
