Pole Inspector Goodenough was a visitor during the early part of the week. Fred. Joudry, optometrist of Prince Rupert, has spent the vast week in New Hazelton and Ha- zelton fixing up the glimmers of the citizens. His visit has re- sulted in great relief to many and as there were still a number desiring attention he has decided to remain in town until the first of next week, Mr. Joudry has been giving every satisfaction to his patients. ant PO no Galloway Returns John D. Galloway, provincial mining engineer for the northern interior, returned Thursday morn- ing from Victoria, where he spent the last few months. As soon as he gets squared away-he will take up his work for the season, beginning with a visit to Hudson Bay mountain, where consider- able development has been going on since Mr. Galloway left last fall. While in the south Mr. Galloway addressed several meet- ings and drew the attention of southern mining men to the north, He teld the Omineeca Herald that he was satisfied that this country would experience the best mining season in its history, not only on one mountain, but on several mountains in the interior. Mrs. Galloway accompanied her husband to Victoria and returned with him on Thursday. Late Chas. Pearce The death occurred on Monday last of Chas. Pearce, an old-tim- De- ceased had not been entirely well for some time, and at the time of his death was at the ranch of Jas. Hevenor, where he was be- ing taken care of.
