|am pleased to welcome you
to the 2005 Festival du Sucre
d'Erable de Nanaimo.

The Festival is a wonderful
opportunity for the
francophones and francophiles
of British Columbia to
take part in some of the character and traditions of
French-Canadian culture. It is always an exciting and
exhilarating experience for the participants and the
visitors of all ages, and everyone has a really great and
memorable time.

I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to
everyone participating in the fifth annual Maple Sugar Festival.

This unique event is a clear illustration of the
vitality of the Francophone culture in British Columbia. By
offering a variety of original activities, this Festival attracts an
even more enthusiastic crowd each year. I am sure that this event

will serve as a wonderful meeting place and place of discovery. | wank to commend everyone involved in organizing

this year’s Festival. | know a lot of work goes into it and
without your time, effort and commitment, it would not
, be possible to create such a successful event.

participate in activities in French and create
ties of friendship. You contribute to the
development and cultural enrichment of
Francophones and all residents and visitors in
your part of the country. -

like to commend all those associated with this
Festival, which invites people of all ages to
satisfy their sweet tooth in a joyful and

izens of Nanaimo and surrounding areas

| would like to extend a special note of thanks to the many volunteers
who have worked hard preparing for this five-day event. It is your
hard work and dedication that ensures the Maple Sugar Festival is

a great success.
