ag ws. ee October 22, 1990/294 A Public Hearing pursuant to Section 956 of the Municipal Act was held prior to the Council meeting of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, October 22nd, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, M.R. Wright and W.W. Stewart in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, Director of Community Planning C.R. Felip, Parks & Recreation Director K. J. Taylor, and City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R. A. Freeman. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised that the foliowing proposed Bylaw would now be considered: Bylaw No. 2547 a. Parcel “A” (Explanatory Plan 15640) Lot 8, District Lot 4, Township 39; Plan 17820, and; b. Lot 8 Except: Parcel “A” (Explanatory Plan 15640), District Lot 4, Township 39, Plan 17820; and c. Lot 255, District Lot 4, Group 1, Township 39, Plan 53908; and d. Lot 118, District Lot 4, Township 39, Plan 36386; all in New Westminster District; from RS-1 (Large Lot Residential) to RM-4 (Apartment). Property is located at 3534, 3542, 3554, and 3564 Woodland Street, and would permit the construction of a 43 unit seniors' apartment building and a 41 unit family oriented townhouse complex on the property. A letter was received by the following person Mrs. S. Osberg, 3156 Raleigh Street expressed concern that ‘non-profit housing' was exceeding required profits and that Council should investigate the circumstances before committing further tax dollars. The following people spoke regarding the proposed amendment Mr. Brent Zenchuck, 3555 Murchie Place expressed concern that a three storied building would block sunlight, suggested two stories, also expressed concern that the street is too narrow to accommodate traffic. Mr. Barry Bennett, 3635 McRae Crescent agreed with the previous speaker regarding location of the park. Mrs. Downes, 3549 Murchie Place is opposed to the park being located on such a narrow street, also opposed to the building being three stories and would suggest two stories. Would like rezoning to be put on hold until after the Nunicipal Election. Mr. Hans Kappel 2564 Larkin Avenue feels that the density in this area is too high. ¥ fe)
