I am pleased to draw to your attention the fact that, despite the improved and expanded membership services provided, the Federation's fees will not be increased during the next fiscal year. During the past year, the Federation has continued to promote the interests of local governments in Canada on a number of fronts. Task forces on constitutional reform and the future of the FCM will present their findings at the Federation's 43rd Annual Conference in June. Our profect on the develop- ment of bilingual administrative lexicons is nearing completion. Preliminary giossaries were published last year, and have been well received. I am sure you will agree that, with respect to the challenges con- fronting Canadian municipal governments today, there is strength in numbers. For this reason, the Federation needs your continued commitment and support in order to discharge its responsibilities with maximum effectiveness. The Federation's 43rd Annual Conference will be held in Halifax froin June 8 to 11, 1980. Registration forma will be sent to you soon, and we hope to see you at the Conference.
