THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C O U FY \ MEMORANDUM MAR 6 197 TO: Mayor and Council March 2nd, 1978 FROM: Planning and Zoning Committee Re: R#16-77 - Proposed Commercial Development on Marpole Council will recall that the subject development was referred to the Planning and Zoning Committee at the end of 1977 for further study. Since then a revised proposal has been received from the developer. The development site is extended to include the lot adjoining the lane and the building is to be increased from one to two storeys, generating a total of 22,231 square feet of building area. In order to accommodate the proposed development rezoning of the site to C-4 is required. The Committee is satisfied with the site and the scale of development. The Committee, however, finds the design of the building totally unacceptable. RECOMMENDATION: The Committee recommends the proposal be referred to the Public Works Committee for review of traffic implications and to investigate the possibility of converting the north~south lane between Marpole and Whyte to a one-way traffic lane. The Committee is also prepared to recommend that the proposal be advanced to Public Hearing upon receiving report from the Public Works Committee and acceptable building design from the developer. 7 “ L.
