GYMNASTS from Terrace’s Peaks Gymnastics Club brought back plenty of medals and trophies from the Prince George Invitiational two weekends age. Wittkowski and Peaks soar in Prince George Strong finishes for club at gymnastics meet A DOZEN Terrace Peaks gymnasts vaulted and tumbled their way to top team honours in two divi- sions at the Prince George Gymnastics Invitational, The Terrace teams took first place in level 1 age 11 and over action, and in level 2 competition. Level 4 gymnast Annie Wittkowski topped the list of individual competitors with first-place per- farmances on the bars and beam, and second place fin- ishes on the vaulting box and floor routine to secure a first place medal on overall points, Also in level 4, Annadelle Kurtz combined a first on the vault and thirds in the other events to take third- place overall, In level 2 (age 11 and over) action, Terrace’s Chelsey Schulmeister ranked second overall, on the strength of her first- place performance on the floor. Level 2 midget action saw Marla Schulmeister take top spots on the vault and beam to place second overall in that division. In level 1 tyro competi- tion, Raina Karrer placed second overall, scoring first on the beam and second on the floor and bars. Sarah Crawley placed third over- all, with a first on the vault and third-place per- formances on the parallel bars and floor. Kylie Amdam was first overall in level 1 midget competition with first-place performances on the bars, beam and filor, and a second-place finish on the vaull. The award for best floor choreography in midget level 1 action went to Kylie Amdam. Raina Karrer took top spot for her floor routine chore- ography in tyro level 1. Annie Wittkowski won the best beam choreography award in level 4 competi- tion. Nearly 100 gynasis com- peted at the meet. King top gun at IPSC shoot PRACTICAL SHOOTER Nick King lived up to his name at the Terrace Rod and Gun Club’s Apr. 25-26 shoot. When the smoke had cleared, King had laken top spot on match points for first place in open competition at the Interna- Shooting Competition tional Practical (IPSC) shoot. Murray Gardner look second spot in cach day, and Larry Knudsen was third. The match was a B.C, Practical Shooting Association qualifier. Top competitors in open competition were: Robert Tiernan (1st), Tom Turner (2nd), Brian McCoy (3rd).
