CHRISTMAS WAY TO KINSWAY PROJECT

Recommendation:

That McElhanney Engineering Services Ltd. be hired to complete the
design drawings and tender documents for the road and water main
construction on Westwood Street from Kingawey to Christmas Way at
an estimated cost of $15,500;

That McELhanney Engineering Services Ltd. be hired to provide the
tendering and construction related engineering services at an
estimated cost of $23,500 subject to receiving approval for the
Provincial Revenue Cost Sharing Grant for this Project; and

That $4,000 be allocated from the 1991 Water/Utility Capital Fund,
and $35,000 from*‘the Road Development Cost Charge Fund for this
purpose.

Background & Comeents:

The Public Works Committee considered the attached report from the Deputy City
Engineer regarding Consulting Engineering Services for the Westwood Street,
Kingsway to Christmas Way Project.

This road reconstruction and watermain replacement project is a high priority
Capital Project for 1991. This project was to be completed in 1990 but did
not receive approval for the Ministry of Highways Revenue Sharing Grant.
Applications have now been made to the Province for both Road and Water
Revenue Sharing Grants.
