THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 UJ N c 1984 04 13 APR 16 1984 REPORT TO: B.R. Kirk, City Administrator FROM: K. Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director SUBJECT: PoCo B.M.X. Track - Light RECOMMENDATION : 1. That the City of Port Coquitlam install a light to shine over the PoCo B.M.X. Track. 2. That the cost of the light of $800.00 be taken from the unallocated parks account in the capital budcet. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: Judy Vahle from the PoCo B.M.X. Club met with the Parks & Recreation Committee to discuss the problem of vandalism at. the track. One of the suggestions by both the Committee and Judy Vahle. was the possible installation of a light at the track, which would shineover the track. It was thought that with a light, it would discourage persons. from going on the zack and, furthermore, would make it easier for the R.C.M.P. to patrol the area. The cost to install an extra light fix- ture on the middle post at the north side of the Reeve Soccer Field has been estimated at $800.00 or less. This money should be taken from the unallocated parks account in the capital budget. Sh L ay bs fe Pe Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreat¥on Director. KIT/bh
