THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM - ITEM III — Continued on Kingsway, McLean, and Pitt River Road would therefore have to be redesignated as secondary highway. It is Proposed that this designation be highway no. 288B. The only affect on the City of this change would be that we would now have less secon- dary highway for us to maintain and more arterial highway for the Highways Department to maintain. The mechanics of achieving this change in classification requiresa by-law to be passed by City Council and an agreement to be signed by the Mayor and Clerk. The Committee recommends that Council approve the change and that a by-law and agreement be drawn up by the City Clerk. I would expect that the Clerk will have a by-law available for first three readings at this Council Meeting. ITEM IV Re: Capping of Shaughnessy Street As a result of the construction of the watermain on Shaughnessy Street between Wilson and Elgin, it is necessary to repave the surface of the street over the trench. Instead of trying to patch the road over this trench, the Committee recommends that a one and one-half inch thickness of asphait be placed over the whole width of the road at an estimated cost of $10,000 which would come out of the water utility budget. Respectfully submitted, /) / Le F.E. Peters, PIEng., FEP/vw City Engineer.
