THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM ITEM II - Continued The Committee recommends that a four-way STOP be installed at this intersection. ITEM IIT Re: Parking Changes Downtown The Committee considered the attached report from _the By-law Officer. The significant points are: 1. The 2-Hour parking limits are being abused because the By-law Enforcement Officer can only make his rounds once per afternoon on these streets. 2. There are more commercial and office buildings being built in this area and it is therefore necessary to increase the turnover of the parking spaces. 3. The remainder of the downtown parking is 1~-Hour parking except in the parking lots and this seems to be suffic- ient. The Committee recommends that the existing 2-Hour parking zones on McAllister and Elgin Avenues be changed to l-Hour parking zones and that the 6-Hour parking zone on the west side of Mary Hill Road from Elgin to McAllister be changed ‘to a l-Hour parking zone. These changes should be made effective January Ist, 1979, ITEM IV Re: STOP Signs at Three Locations on Salisbury Avenue Several requests have been received for STOP signs along Salisbury Avenue. Salisbury is considered to be a local street but has had increased traffic because of the shopping centre.
