Carried. ” NEW BUSINESS: From the Port Coquitlam and District Hunting and Fishing Club, August 22nd, 1977, advising that Jack Cewe Ltd., a gravel mining company, has applied to the Pollution Control Board for a permit to discharge effluent from its operations in the District of Coquitlam into the Coquitlam River, which will result in further silting of same. In its letter the Club expressed concern that the approximately 17,000,000 gallons of effluent to be discharged daily, containing up to 150 milligrams per litre of objectionable material, could result in extreme silting of the lower reaches of the River, and requested that the City voice an objertion and ask that this application be stopped until at least a Public Hearing on the effects of this discharge can be held. The Club, in its letter, further advised that immediate action is necessary, as the final day for receiving objections is August 27th, 1977. Mr. H.
