Carried. Prior to passage of the above-stated resolution, Mr. W. Ralph Brownlee, Architect, spoke in support 9f the proposed project, and gave a short pres~ entation on the plan that was displayed. Alderman Traboulay inquired concern- ing recreation for children, and Mr. Brownlee advised that the project was not really planned as a development for children, but for adults; however, he stated he could not guarantee that children would not be present. Alderman Traboulay stated his understanding thet at this point the project was merely approved ir: principle leading to a Land Use Contract at which time the ques- tion of the various amenities, including possible children's recreation area, could be considered and the City Planner advised that this Was correct. Plan.Off.re From the Planning Officer, September 19th, 1974, stating that in his Appln. #R18~-74 opinion Application R#18-74 for "Development Area" designation to allow the development of a mixed commercial/apartment building at 2338 Marpole Avenue, is acceptable in terms of land use as the subject site borders existing cCummercial and apartment development and it is a logical extension of such uses.
