The ‘uayor & Council, The City of rort Coquitlam, 2272 McAllister Ave., Port Coquitlam, B.v. Vear Sirs: Kee Hawthorne Lodge (Intermediate Vare Home) For the past two years the City of Port Coquitlam has been generous gnough to waive property taxes on the above noted. This concession has enabled the society to keep operating costs as low as is compatible with the levels of care required by the guests. As you are aware there was some talk that the facility would become under the control of and be funded by the provincial government. At this point there has been no further action. Presently the Dept. of Human -Nesources are picking up a portion of the deficit, and we must continue to keep costs as low as possible. We would therefore respectfully request City Council by Sy-law to exempt dawthorne Lodge from taxes on property. It being fully understood that such concession be in effect only so long as the Port Coquitlam >enior Citizens Housing Society holds title to the property. Trusting the above will recieve your favourable consideration remain. Yours very truly, e0% (BE Prat etcen Codd G R.A. MacDonald, . President. Et east inn.” aT Te
