at the Hazelton Hospital. .

Word has been received that
Mrs. James Evans, formerly of
Dorreen, was recently in ‘a nasty
auto accident. . She is living with
two sisters of the late Mr. Evans.
at Long Beach, Cal.” While the
three ladies were waiting for a

great speed ‘and hit all three of
them. Mrs, Evans was badly in-
jured, Miss Evans was killed and
Mrs, Eavidson had: several bones
broken.

Mrs. Little of Woodcock was a

Dr. Ferrier of Smithers, a vet-
inery surgeon, visited Kisniox
last week and found an advanced
case of glanders, the most dead-
ly of all horse diseases and the
most infectious, It was reported
to Victoria and an inspector is to
arrive this week. ‘The only cure
for landers is shooting and it is|’
feared quite a number of animals
will have to be destroved. The
