The current non-refundable rezoning fee is:

$20.00 per hundred square meters for the first 500 square meters}
$7.00 per hundred square meters for the next 49,500 square

meters; and
$3.00 per hundred square meters for all additional site area.

The minimum fee is $100.00.

The average fee collected for rezonings so far in 1990, is $391.00;
this is slightly less than the $400.00 processing fee which applies to
Development Permits and Development Variance Permits.

Rezoning applications are usually more complex to process than
Development Permits or Development Variance Permits and, although it is
difficult to estimate the exact staff time involved, their processing
certainly exceeds the 8 to 12 hours estimated for Development Permits and
Development Variance Permits.

size of the property involved and, therefore, it is recommended to maintain
the current fee structure, but at a higher, more realistic rate.
